Terrorist Attack at Antonia Concert
The zeppelin overhead proclaimed "You may not fear the Darkness ... but you should fear Dark Eden", as panicked fans of superstar Antonia stampeded for the exits, while terrorists added to the mayhem. Over 200 were hospitalized due to injuries sustained, but amazingly there were no fatalities among civilians. This was even more amazing when it was revealed that the panic up above had only been a diversion for security forces, while a terrorist agent was working to detonate several megatons of explosive materials beneath the auditorium. Only thanks to heightened security in the face of tips of possible terrorist activity and to the diligence of special agents of the Bauhaus Law Enforcement Units and the Dawn Alert Civilian Protection Service was this plan thwarted.
The Second Directorate is treating this as a Heretical Incident, and has taken custody of the captured terrorists, many of whom were natives of Dark Eden. "We were alerted to the activities of the so-called 'Armageddonists' by the Dawn Alert Civilian Protection Service," said Inquisitor Kane on the scene with reporters, "but the discovery of the pre-Exodus machinery under Feldspar Auditorium was an unforeseen development. ..."

Surprise Hit at Feldspar Auditorium
Antonia may not have gotten all the way through the first song of her concert -- the title track from her new "Don't Fear the Darkness" album (released on Bernheim Records) -- but in the aftermath of the terrorist attack at Feldspar Auditorium, people are still talking about the opening set performed by the previously unknown Luna City-based jazz-metal band, "Still Breathing".
"Who were those guys?"one concert-goer had to say, as he was being loaded into the ambulance. "You know, the ones with that 'Brother' song. That one really kicked."
An unidentified stage hand was quoted as commenting, on the group's name, "The way I hear it, someone asked that fancy-dressed guy, Reynard, whether he was still doing music. And he said, 'I'm still breathing, ain't I?' And there ya go."
The band performed three songs before Antonia's dramatic entrance, in what is believed to be their first concert. Sources indicate that the band is a regular performer at Dusk-to-Dawn, a nightclub in the Perimeter which is known for being open continuously during the Lunar night-cycle, and shutting down during the Lunar day-cycle.
The band consists of lead vocalist Jet Danzwyck, Reynard DeKonbleu on saxophone and keyboards, Stephen Mancheau on guitar, Corlion Pottsdam on drums, and Liessa Viegelt on bass guitar.

Trucker Blows Up Own Cab
CSS officers are investigating the destruction of a hauler belonging to Troy Bartley, a trucker for Red-Eye Freight Haulers, just outside his residence in the Eagle Landing district. According to witnesses, Troy Bartley had been complaining about a feral dog that had been getting into his garbage despite numerous precautions. Apparently, Mr. Bartley set a trap for the dog, and caught it, but rather than turning it over to the local Critter Control Service, he strapped an explosive device to the dog and let it loose in a nearby junkyard, then filmed the dog as it dashed about, sparks flying from the device attached to its tail. As caught on film, the dog ran back toward Mr. Bartley and then hid underneath his truck. Secondary explosions from the truck's fuel tank started a blaze that was spotted by the CSS Eye-in-the-Sky patrol, but the truck was rendered unserviceable by the time firefighters were able to get the situation under control.
Mr. Bartley has been charged with cruelty to animals, possession and use of an explosive device without a license and within city limits, and general reckless behavior.
CSS Chief Julian Brenner was quoted by an anonymous source as saying, "Only you can prevent stupidity."
