Hikaru Tanaka Guilty of Patricide

Hikaru Tanaka A Mishiman court today found Hikaru Tanaka, son of the late Chairman Hiroshi Tanaka, guilty of patricide, a crime punishable by death. A female "courtesan" who gave her name only as "Sakura" was found guilty as an accomplice, though sentencing has not yet been made.

Detective Sherman Duff Quick resolution of the case and capture of the criminals has been attributed to Detective Sherman Duff of the Dawn Alert Civilian Protection Service. There were rumors that convicted gunman Tommy "Trombone" Trovato may have been responsible, but he was exonerated of any wrong-doing this time. Sources speculate that he may have been present under the false pretense of a meeting with a potential employer, a ruse engineered by Hikaru Tanaka so that blame could be thrown on the convict for the murder. However, this plan evidently led to Hikaru's downfall, as Detective Sherman Duff and Officer James Watterson (who declined to comment) were tipped off to the Trombone's presence, and were there at the nightclub at the time of the murder.

Chairman Hiroshi Tanaka Since Hikaru Tanaka was Hiroshi Tanaka's only known surviving relative, succession of the leadership of Tanaka Electric is in question, causing some concern amongst its many customers in the Perimeter.

Cardinal Speaks Out on Evils of Bionics

Cardinal Dominic Cardinal Dominic, the Sheriff of Luna, preached against the dangers of corruption of the Dark Symmetry and the loss of humanity brought about by bionic augmentation of the human body. "As one of the great old faiths once taught, 'Thou shalt not make unto thyself any graven image,' and I say to you, there is no worse graven image than to make a machine to think like a man, or to turn a man into that which is like a machine!" At the climax of the Cardinal's sermon, the statue of Nathaniel Durand the First was seen to weep tears.

New Movie Breaks All Records

Jack Slade Jack Slade's newest movie, Gunhawks, has broken all box office records on its first weekend. In Gunhawks, Slade reprises his role as the tough and cynical private detective, James Webster.

Imperial Ambassador McKenzie has lodged a protest against the film, claiming that the portrayal of Imperial employees as villainous thugs is totally misleading and just another example of a Capitolian propaganda offensive against his corporation.

Says Jack Slade: "Hey man, it's just a story!"

Sky Shark Preys on Zeppelins

Passengers of zeppelins across Luna City have been cautioned about the recent spate of attacks by an unknown individual riding an unregistered Great Grey hoverbike, flying illegally over city airspace. So far, the reckless driver has damaged three zeppelins by colliding with them and slicing the envelope with vehicle-mounted weapons. No zeppelins have crashed yet as a result of these attacks, but police are on the lookout for this individual's next attack, and all of the attacks have been in the Capitol-controlled districts near Masterville Communications Center.

CSS Chief Julian Brenner CSS Chief Julian Brenner was quoted as saying, "Owners of Sky Sharks and any other personal flying craft are urged to obey no-fly zones over the city. Failure to do this will result in use of force to bring down the flier, especially if the flier is in close proximity to any zeppelins that might be in danger. We take this threat seriously."
