There are a number of special careers associated with Imperial, most of them of course having to do with the military.

Imperial Regular Trooper Regulars / 32nd Trench Battalion

The rank and file soldiers of the Imperial army are known as the Regulars, lightly armored, and traditionally equipped with gas masks and the Invader assault rifle. Members of the 32nd Trench Battalion -- a notorious branch of the Regulars, seeing action in a constant siege of the Citadel of Alakhai on Venus -- also typically wear lightly armored trenchcoats. Purportedly, the unit insignia is not actually a "3", but is meant to be a stylized trench.

The 4th Regulars are also a highly distinguished unit, though they more often see action against rival corporate forces rather than the Dark Legion.

Two Young Guardsmen Protecting Her Royal Serenity, Armed with Southpaw Rocket Launcher and Assailant Sniper Rifle Young Guard

Her Serenity's Dragoons are organized into several divisions, including the Young Guard, who serve as defenders of the leader of the Imperial megacorporation. They are equipped in light ballistic armor in black, and uniforms of red, and primarily operate in urban environments. While their armor is not necessarily the most protective, it offers great freedom of movement, which is of primary import to the Young Guard when they see action.

Most of the time, they wear their distinctive uniforms of black and red when they defend the life and interests of Her Royal Serenity, but when action is expected, they may wear appropriate camouflage.

Imperial Blood Beret Blood Berets

The Blood Berets are typical of Imperial's many special forces, most of which are sponsored by one clan or another. The Blood Berets are the most famous of these special forces, specializing in jungle warfare on the planet of Venus.

While ostensibly they see much action against the Undead Legionnaires and Necromutants of the Dark Legion, they quite often clash with the Venusian Rangers and others who contend for the considerable resources of the Venusian jungle.

Edward S. Murdoch, Golden Lion Captain, Armed with Plasma Intruder Golden Lions

If there were an especially "controversial" special forces unit in the Imperial Army, it would be the Golden Lions. It is no secret that this unit was formed specifically for the purpose of fighting rival corporations.

(The illustration shows a Golden Lion in red Mars camouflage -- While this is most often associated with the Golden Lions, they may wear whatever camouflage is most appropriate for the environment. Note that the Imperial insignia is on the right pauldron, and the special forces insignia is on the left. This indicates a regimental officer.)

Grey Ghosts

Grey Ghosts are combat engineers of the Imperial megacorporation, often deployed behind enemy lines as commandos for the purpose of placing explosives on enemy structures, or else deployed in groups to erect bridges and oversee the construction of trenches.

Wolfbane Commando Wolfbane Commandos

The Wolfbanes are close combat specialists who serve as a mercenary group hired by the various Imperial clans for special business. (While they may be mercenaries, this doesn't extend to serving non-Imperial interests against Imperial.) Commandos are typically armed with the Aggressor sidearm and the Punisher short-sword, while particularly strong warriors provide fire support with Charger HMGs. Each squad of Commandos is led by a Chieftain, traditionally armed with a Clansman Claymore, which is held to protect the wearer from the Dark Symmetry. (This probably isn't true, but try to convince a Commando of that...)

Wolfbanes sever ties from their Imperial clans, and there's a bit of ritual involved in their initiation into the ranks. New initiates are referred to as "Wolfbairns". They also have a couple of unique vehicles in their arsenal: the Hedgehog Necromower (a buggy with a Megacharger HMG mounted on it) and the Fenris Bike (a battle bike with a big stylized wolf head on the front, sometimes equipped with an unstable flame-thrower).

Pathfinder Wolfbane Pathfinders

The Pathfinders are the scouts of the Wolfbanes, tending to be lightly armored and armed. Pathfinders traditionally cover their bodies in tattoos, and claim that these tattoos protect them from bullets. Alas, they do not ... however, you can't shoot what you can't see, and Pathfinders are adept at not being seen. Still, they have quite a reputation for being insane (that is, more insane than the average Wolfbane).

Mourning Wolf Mourning Wolves

The Mourning Wolves comprise an all-female unit within the Wolfbanes, exclusively comprised of the wives or lovers of Wolfbanes who died in action, and who now seek a chance to avenge their deaths. The Mourning Wolves specialize in the use of chains and wrist-mounted "wolf claw" melee weapons in close combat, and rely on "gang-up" tactics.

Her Royal Serenity, Queen Paladine Her Royal Serenity

The ultimate leader of the Imperial megacorporation is Her Royal Serenity, Queen Paladine. Her actual power is considerable, but she is not a true monarch -- In terms of actual legal authority, she is merely a figurehead. Nonetheless, Clan Paladine holds considerable power and influence in the Board, and, by extension, so does Her Royal Serenity. Furthermore, she is adored by the common people, and enjoys great popularity even abroad -- except, of course, when matters of Imperial's policy of armed acquisition of other corporate properties pops up in otherwise polite conversation.
