(The following information is not general knowledge in the Mutant Chronicles universe, and a player character would only know most of this if he or she has at Novice level in Lore of Mutant Chronicles or Lore of Dark Symmetry. Specific alien names for weapons and obscure creatures would require at least Average Lore of Mutant Chronicles or Lore of Dark Symmetry. Unless your character has these knowledge areas, you should read no further.)
Muawijhe is one of the lesser Apostles, known as the Lord of Visions, of Nightmares, and of Insanity. It might be debatable whether Muawijhe is truly "insane", but he is highly unpredictable, sometimes acting against the interests of his "siblings" with no discernable motive. For the most part, however, he furthers the interests of the Dark Soul, so he is tolerated by the more powerful Dark Apostles. He has been known, however, to interfere in some of their plots, and even to take actions that might benefit humanity in the short run ... but then he'll turn around and send one of his minions to mow down children in a schoolyard with gunfire. He is no friend of humanity by any means, and if he does anything to benefit humanity, it is only because he reserves the right to make up for it later.
Muawijhe often meddles in the lives of mundane mortals by sending them disturbing dreams ... sometimes prophetic in nature, though the "prophesies" may well come true simply by Muawijhe's own maneuvering, rather than any true insight into the future. Muawijhe often "blesses" mentally deranged psychopaths, prodding them along to even greater excesses, and supernaturally protecting them from harm, only to set them up for a particularly spectacular death later on. One of his own Heretic servants may perform admirably, and then he rewards the servant by killing him right then and there, without provocation. (But then, perhaps he is doing him a kindness, considering the usual fate of his servants.)
Powers of Muawijhe
Most powers of Muawijhe center around the theme of "insanity", with spells of limited "mind control" (if it can be called that), which prompts the victim to behave unpredictably -- which could be for or against the caster's favor. His servants are also able to conjure up nightmare creatures from other realms, and to send nightmares to plague the dreams of their enemies ... or their allies, as that can be a way to get a message across.
Weaponry
In addition to "standard" weaponry, the heavy weapons carries of the Screaming Legionnares carry a strange "flamethrower"-like weapon that actually fires foul energies of the Darkness -- or "waves of pure insanity", as they might be inclined to claim -- which totally ignore things such as armor or toughness, and directly assault the mind. (Of course, this means it has no direct effect on inanimate objects.)
Screaming Legionnaires
Screaming Legionnaires are those who have been driven mad by Muawijhe's "visions", and corrupted by the Dark Symmetry into something a bit less than human. They are often mistaken for Undead Legionnaires, as they typically are covered with self-inflicted and open wounds, immune to such trivialities as pain, but still by no means immortal. They typically dress in a garish mish-mash of scavenged uniform pieces and armor, or else they may be deliberately dressed up in bizarre "uniforms", such as clown costumes or business suits and ties. Screaming Legionnaires still maintain some degree of creative energy, and tend to focus this in strange ways, such as fixing up a cream pie to throw in an enemy's face ... and then shoot him with a Kratach while laughing maniacally ... or a "flamethrower" that looks like a giant aerosol can with a lighter in front. Some Screaming Legionnaires actually have a sense of humor, but they're still psychotic and murderous.
Zenithian Soulslayers / Zenithian Slaughtermasters
Zenithians are alien creatures with a rather demonic appearance, having a muscular humanoid body with digitigrade legs that end in clawed, two-toed feet, and having ridiculously long and clawed fingers, with heads that have remotely human-like faces with sharp fangs, and with an excessively elongated skullcase. Their backs sport bony curved spines that vaguely resemble wings, mimicking the structures that appear on the backs of Ezoghouls, though Zenithians don't display any knack for flying.
Zenithian Soulslayers are typically bluish in color, and are often accompanied by entourages of singing, dancing and instrument-playing Screaming Legionnaires. They are known as being quite surprisingly intelligent and thoughtful despite their demonic appearance ... but decidedly evil and cruel.
Zenithian Slaughtermasters are larger cousins of the Soulslayers, having reddish hides, and often leading entourages of smaller Soulslayers into battle.
As for what exactly a regular Zenithian looks like, what their world is like, or whether they're all just psychopathic murderers is anybody's guess. The only ones that have come into contact with humanity are those in the service of Muawijhe.
Angels of Mercy
The Angel of Mercy is an unusual creature that resembles some sort of specialized Nepharite, humanoid in form with a semi-skeletal face, and with bony spines on his back like that of a Zenithian. The Angel of Mercy typically dresses in robes, and is possessed of a strong potency in the use of the Dark Symmetry, having the ability to visit nightmares upon those nearby who are still awake ... and then showing "mercy" by slaying the tormented victim while he's writhing about in his nightmarish delusions. Anyone who so much as looks upon an Angel of Mercy is visited by flashes of horrific thoughts.
Doomspeakers
Doomspeakers are yet another strange creature in the service of Muawijhe, possibly of human origin. They look like tall, elongated humanoids in long robes who float a few feet off the ground, with no visible feet. A Doomspeaker's head is bald, and its mouth and nose have been replaced by a mass of horns sticking out of its face, through which it loudly proclaims "doom" upon anyone who hears its voice. Doomspeakers typically carry a pair of autoshotguns, one in each hand, with which it fulfils its own prophesy by pumping full of lead anybody it comes across.
Karnophages
This is another possible fate of Heretics -- succumbing to a "disease" known as the Black Hunger. In advanced stages, the victim becomes more feral, hunched over, lips receding, teeth extending into fangs, nails extending into claws, hide becoming more leathery, and hair falling out, until the victim is a ghoulish creature consumed by the desire to feed upon meat -- preferably human flesh. Karnophages will tend to obey the Nepharites, preying upon purely human prey, but if none is available, they have been known to turn upon other servants of the Darkness, so they are rarely tolerated in very large numbers, and are most often found in the service of Muawijhe. Karnophages are often found anytime there are battles between the Dark Legion and the corporations, preying upon the dead and finishing off the wounded. They are not so brave, however, as to charge opponents who are obviously well armed and prepared for defense, unless they are deprived of any other alternative, and driven by hunger.
Iconoclasts
These titanic creatures are Muawijhe's version of a Bio-Giant, created from a seemingly haphazard collection of organic and mechanical components. A seated Iconoclast might pass for a scrap heap. Standing, however, their true nature is evident -- They typically possess a multitude of arms, tipped with various pincers, saws, blades, clamps and snares. Their heads are comprised of collections of junk arranged to suggest wildly grinning faces. Iconoclasts are a bit more lively and faster paced than Bio-Giants, but also extremely unpredictable. Unlike Bio-Giants, they typically lack any sort of ranged armament, and often make up for this by grabbing anything within reach (trees, enemy soldiers, friendly solders, live mines) and throwing them at targets (provided they get the chance).
Nepharites of Muawijhe
Nepharites of Muawijhe have lumpy humanoid bodies, often very muscular, topped with writhing crowns of "hair" comprised of wriggling worms extending from their skulls. The tongue of a Nepharite of Muawijhe is a long, squirming, worm-like tentacle that extends from the mouth, capable of delivering the "Kiss of Muawijhe", which can instantly drive a man insane, plagued with unholy visions and unable to tell reality from fantasy. Even once the effect wears off, a victim (provided he's still alive) may no longer be able to trust what is real and what might be yet another delusion, and may go truly berserk while trying to cope. Nepharites of Muawijhe generally don't carry any weapons, instead relying on their long and sharp claws, and their powers in the Dark Symmetry.
