(The following information is not general knowledge in the Mutant Chronicles universe, and a player character would only know most of this if he or she has at Novice level in Lore of Mutant Chronicles or Lore of Dark Symmetry. Specific alien names for weapons and obscure creatures would require at least Average Lore of Mutant Chronicles or Lore of Dark Symmetry. Unless your character has these knowledge areas, you should read no further.)
Demnogonis is the Lord of Decay and Disease, spreader of plagues through the worlds of humanity. He is depicted as a gaunt, hairless, yellow-skinned man, with parts of his body roughly replaced with corroded pieces of cybernetics, adorned in blood-stained white robes emblazoned with his rune.
Demnogonis' forces prey upon the wounded and dying, typically attacking those who cannot defend themselves, rather than serving as the vanguard for the Dark Legion. They may sometimes pose as medics, coming to "rescue" the wounded, then subject them to horrible tortures and/or infect them with virulent diseases, and then release them back amongst their people to spread plague in the cities. Ironically, Demnogonis actually provides medical services for the Dark Legion ... or at least, those amongst his own followers. Demnogonis and his servants are "immune" to any sort of plague or disease, though even the Undead Legionnaires of other Apostles are not beyond being afflicted by his creations. Plus, Demnogonis' own servants usually eventually succumb to their own ailments. Thus, the forces of Demnogonis are usually kept well beyond arm's reach from the forces of the other Apostles.
Demnogonis is easily the most satisfied of the Apostles, quite content to let the others continue to slaughter humanity, while he moves in and plays with what is left. Demnogonis' only real worry is that the conquest of humanity may come too soon and too easily, in which case he will dearly hope that there will be more worlds to visit and conquer.
Powers of Demnogonis
Powers of Demnogonis typically involve various disease-based attacks that ignore such things as armor, and directly attack the body. Those who succumb to diseases of Demnogonis typically come back as yet more abominations, such as the Blessed. Demnogonis is the most effective of all the Apostles at gaining "new recruits", but the cost of this is that Demnogonis also has the highest "turnover rate", as those not slain in his service while fighting the corporations will eventually die of the unholy diseases that give them their strength.
Weaponry
The "standard" weapons of Demnogonis are typically infected with all sorts of vile diseases. "Plague guns" favored by Curators either fire bullets that infect the wounds of the target, or can be used in close combat to inject a victim with a bacteria-laden syringe. "Plague swords" are supernaturally cursed weapons that are greatly feared, because they inflict wounds that can never be healed, even by the powers of the Art.
Even more disgusting is the Plaguebringer Gun, which consists of a large cannon with a hose that goes back to a cauldron carried on the back of the user (if he's particularly large, such as a Nepharite), or by an assistant (such as on the back of a Necromutant). The gun fires partially liquified and disease-infested body parts from corpses deemed too damaged to bring back as Undead Legionnaires. The parts then explode in a spray of ichor in a sickening display, releasing airborne and fast-acting infections to all nearby.
Blessed Legionnaires
These are composed of victims of Demnogonis' various plagues, goaded onward. Many of the Blessed are so maddened by their diseases that they are easily manipulated into serving as frontline soldiers for Demnogonis. Others just lumber along in agony, serving as human shields. There is occasionally the possibility of revolt, but the only hope of release from their torment is death ... which typically isn't far away.
Curators
Curators are aliens recruited by Demnogonis from previous conquests, warped by the Dark Symmetry, and given new purpose as tittering deliverers of "Last Aid" to the wounded, and commanders of squads of the Blessed. They are typically armed with the Plague Gun and Plague Sword, though some carry the Plaguebringer Gun. Curators often look like a parody of a medic -- and some go so far as to actually disguise themselves as combat medics (faces concealed by gas masks, of course). When operating in the domains of humanity, they tend to be more careful in their disguises, posing as doctors and ambulance teams ... with an uncanny ability to arrive on the scenes of accidents before real medical help can arrive, "treating" their "patients", then releasing the doomed individual back into society to unwittingly spread disease until the symptoms start to show.
Cairath
The Cairath is a huge blob of diseased and mutated flesh, combined with corroded bits of metal junk. In the Cairath's mass can be seen barely recognizeable sections of human flesh, sometimes twitching uselessly, or babbling gibberish. Cairaths are often formed by the Dark Symmetry in the sewers of humanity, and fed sacrifices by cultists of Demnogonis. The victims are absorbed into the Cairath's mass, which may reach truly collosal proportions. (In the end, it may well end up devouring the cult that worships it, but, well, it's brainless and mindless, so it can't tell anyone from anyone else anyway. All to the glory of Demnogonis.)
Nepharite of Demnogonis
Some Nepharites of Demnogonis look like glorified Curators, or like lesser versions of Demnogonis himself. Others look like grotesquely diseased and mutated monstrosities in tattered robes, with badly stitched wounds bulging and seeping bodily fluids and infection. They are utterly disgusting to look at, and are surrounded by the foulest of odors, prompting those who look upon them (or smell them) to lose the contents of their stomachs -- either by gag reflex, or disembowelment, depending upon how close the Nepharite is at the time.
