Sons of Rasputin
The Sons of Rasputin represent the most technologically advanced civilization of Earth, though it is still patry compared to megacorporate standards. The ancestors of the Sons of Rasputin survived through the Last Days in great underground bunkers, and still retained some measure of the technology and some resources of their former glory. They strove to maintain some semblance of civilization and order in addition to their struggles for the raw basics of survival. These people stayed in the great underground bunkers for many generations, and they required a very strict code to maintain order in such a confined society. When they at last came back to the surface, the Sons of Rasputin came with their own society firmly in place, not merely a rag-tag group of desperate survivors.
They have formed a new nation, which they call Preussia, and their capital city is New Prague. They have great factories rebuilt from the ruins of ancient machines, belching out smoke and steam. This, of course, represents the most grievous of sins to the Templars of Gaia, and in short order, these two tribes became the worst of enemies.
Rasputin society believes itself to be far superior to the other, "primitive" tribes. They live on essentially a feudal system, yet with a fully functional industrial society. Their leader is the Tsar, ruling from his fortified Winter Palace, and under him serve five Obersts and selected Dukes to convey his will to the people. The Dukes are give dominion over large areas of land, and are pretty much allowed to rule over their lands as kings, so long as they provide tax receipts and military support to the Tsar. Beneath the Dukes, in turn are Barons, governing over even smaller sections of the nation.
In the cities, the air is exceptionally toxic, even by Dark Eden standards, and many of the lesser serfs live short and miserable lives of constant labor ... but at least they are content to be safe, and their lives, as short as they are, are still a fair deal better than the existences of many of those who scrape up a living amongst the other tribes. Those of the military and of nobility always wear gas masks and armor when they venture forth into the outside world.
The technology of the Sons of Rasputin, in terms of weaponry, is in some ways comparable to that of the standard issue weaponry of the megacorporations, though they lack any of the more high-tech innovations, such as plasma weaponry or rocket launchers. Their soldiers are called "Soldats", and their cavaliers are known as "Cossacks", riding upon mutated beasts known as rivetbulls. They also utilize propeller-driven biplanes and triplanes, and use lumbering tanks in their battles against the rival tribes.
